The Ashbourne Group was founded by Crispin Etherington in 1996. Etherington has been a resident in the US for over thirty years engaged in the development and management of commercial real estate. Previous experience has included: President of Lovell Properties Inc. (1988-1996); the US subsidiary of a UK publicly-traded commercial and residential development company; Executive Vice President of Guinness Peat Properties Inc. (1981-1987); the US subsidiary of the Guinness Peat Group, an international financial services company and Tillyard and Partners Ltd. (1978-1980); an international real estate consulting practice. Prior to these positions, Etherington was engaged in private practice in the United Kingdom in the acquisition, development and management of commercial projects on behalf of institutional clients.

Since 1978 Etherington has been responsible for the development and management of over 2.6 million square feet of commercial and residential projects ( Representative Projects ) throughout North America.

Ashbourne’s target market includes Washington D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia. The company’s focus is on the restoration and repositioning of well located existing properties and the development of new high-end boutique residential buildings, commercial office buildings and land development.

Related activities include the provision of real estate advice to retail clients, foreign missions, educational non-profits and overseas investors. As the General Partner of Tatton Park LLLP, Ashbourne is in the planning stages of developing a 450 acre motorsports park in St. Mary’s County, Maryland. Tatton Park will feature two world class road courses, an off road and rally center and will provide security and educational training programs to the government and private security forces. Tatton Park is planned to open in 2012.

Etherington’s non-business activities include director on the Advisory Board of the Edward St. Johns Real Estate Program, The Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, President of the Annapolis Boys and Girls Clubs Scholarship Trust and Board member of the RICS USA, Washington DC/Mid-Atlantic Chapter. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
